"When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and the mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within." -- Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

A recent Time Magazine had a lot to say on the subject of the modern life, and work-styles, that we are all increasingly adopting. The feature explained some of the recent research showing how meditation proves to be helpful. One example:

Drolma - Tara"Making employees sharper is only one benefit; studies say meditation also improves productivity, in large part by preventing stress-related illness and reducing absenteeism.... One of the most important domains meditations acts upon is emotional intelligence--a set of skills far more consequential for life success than cognitive intelligence."

Meditation helps calm the busyness and distractions that disturb our mind and leads us to a deep sense of inner peace. This inner calm helps us cope and transform the difficulties of daily life, improves our relationships with others and makes us feel happy, even in times of great economic uncertainty. To meditate successfully, we need to receive clear instructions, understand why we need to meditate, and practice whenever we can. At the weekly Kadampa Buddhist meditation classes throughout south Florida, you will learn the basics of meditation and how to use it in your daily lives.

Please contact us if you would like more information. We look forward to seeing you soon.
